I just received a clip from Valentino's documentary where all six of his pugs (named Milton, Monty, Maude, Margot, Maggie, and Molly-listed in no particular order) are put on a plain with their esteemed fashion-designer owner and his posse. This is the cutest video you will ever see and I can not wait to see his documentary. I hope it premeres state-side!

Jordan Sparks Speaks Out
When Brand insulted the Jonas Brothers for wearing purity rings at this year's VMAs, Jordan Sparks came to their defense. This is what she said and here is why I think she's awesome:
"It's not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody, guy or girl, wants to be a slut."
I know you probably heard it before but I thought it would be best to record it here, for my personal memories.

How Much Do I Luv the 2008 VMAs?
The amount is too great to be counted! I especially loved what the Jonas Brothers wore (especially the white suit Joe Jonas wore). I'm glad that Britney Spears is finally back and winning awards already. Christina Aguilera practically fell off my radar and I'm glad she's back as well.
Everyone looked fenomenal from Jordan Sparks(thanx for standing up for the Jonas brothers and their decision to wear promise rings) to Lauren Conrad, from Pete Wentz(I luved his outfit too) to Speidi. Paris Hilton looked awesome as well.
I am also a Tokio Hotel fan now officially! And Paramore isn't that bad either. And for some reason I can't get 'The Seven Things I Hate About You' out of my head (even though I don't know the full song).
Shame on Perez Hilton for starting trouble with last night's host, Russel Brand. Of course, he made a couple of off color jokes aimed at the Jonas Brothers but apparently he thought they were funny at the time and apologized for what he said after Jordan Sparks (again, thank you) made a statement defending promise rings. Brand should be forgiven the Jonas Brothers should ignore it and we all need to just get along!

Another Excellent Video!
Here's the song 'I Want It All' from High School Musical 3: Senior Year. It finally grew on me! After two viewings, I fell in love with this song.
Today Is My Day Off!!
I finally found the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie trailor today. I have been told and have seen on a couple of television shows that the actual movie is coming out next summer and not this year as it usually does. However, I just got the new copy of Entertainment Weekly and it reports that the movie will be released in theatres on a specific date in November(I think its Nov.24th but I'm not sure, I can't remember). Anyways, I hope it does come out this year because I feel I've been waiting for far too long already. Here's the trailor:
All else is going well in my life. I got another raise at work (Yeah me!). I'm still reading Anna Karenina and its finally getting good! I also realised that the more dramatic a book is the more I love it! So, aparentally, my favorite type of book are those that are overly dramatic and romantic with a bit of social theory and constent implications of society.
I'm in the process of registering to vote now, as well. I will send my information off hopefully today; if the mailman hasn't come yet=p
I'm greatly anticipating the new season of Gossip Girl which premieres on Labor Day. I'll have to tape it (hopefully, I'm not the only one who still does that) because I have to work. I may even watch 90210 on tuesday-I haven't decided yet.

It has been a while....
A lot has been going on lately. Firstly, I was promoted to customer service at my job! Isn't that great?
I also have developed perhaps an unheathy fasination with the french culture-especially the 18th century, during the reign of Queen Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. I've seen both versions of Marie Antoinette (the 2006 version staring Kirsten Dunst and the 1938 version starring Norma Shearer) and I loved them both!
One of my favorite historical figures from this time period is now the duchess de Polignac. I don't know why but I think she was awesome! The most I know about her is that she was the Queen's favorite(so much so that many critics at that time took the two to be lovers) and that she was supposedly having an afair with another man.
I can't wait to visit France one day and see the Palace of Versailles and, of course, the Champs Elysees. Many of my associates are even helping me with my french (to bad I didn't pay attention in high school).
Oh, and I am highly anticipating HSM 3: Senior Year! I saw the commercial and I will be seeing the movie in October-its a done deal!
That's all for today, folks, g2g!

Attack of the killer bees=0
I report to you no later than five minutes after this event took place. My entire family (my mom, dad, brother, I and maybe my dog a little on the inside) are still laughing about it.
Earlier today, my father mentioned how there is a bee colony living in a hole in our backyard. Only a few moments ago, he asked me to assist him in killing them with raid and, after putting on his shoes (while wearing a pear of shorts, no less) ventured to begin his quest while I remainded in my bedroom getting ready.
No sooner then he left, however, was the whole house shaken by his screams of "Ouch!" and "I got stung!" and, unfortunately for the first time in my life, I heard my father scream like a twelve year old girl. Sad to say, he was stung by, according to him, three bees and, upon escaping them by running into the house terrified, one managed to follow him inside. We had a terrible time getting this one, as you would expect.
He then went out onto the back porch, followed by my mother and my brother,(I remained downstairs to search for any winged intruders) while still a bit shaken by his ordeal. The bees seemed to still be active, and launched another attack from the backyard. My brother stumbled over his own feet, screamed and then fled to his bedroom and closed the door tight so as to keep out those yellow intruders.
A couple more bees made their way inside. One was killed at the porch door. Another was audacious enough to venture into the hallway bathroom where I was forced to smash it using my brother's framed high school certificate. The family, eventhough shaken thoroughly, laughed uncontrollably for quite some time. It was then that I decided to blog about this event.
Do not fear, the bees retreated to their underground nest, apparently, since there are no more in the house or the garage where they started their assault. And now, with the adventure over, I can get back to reading 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde.

(I'm Still Gone With the Wind)
Keeping with my present obsession with Gone With the Wind, I found a video of the Carol Burnett Show where they are doing a spoof of the classic epic. Here is Part 1:
And here is Part 2:
I find both videos to be hilarious!! I actually bought Gone With the Wind on amazon.com but I'm afraid I will have to wait a long time for I had to pay with a check!
P.S: I am reading Le Morte d'Arthur by Malory now and have already read Voltair's 'Candide' and Virginia Woolf's essay "A Room of One's Own' and I loved both books!

Hey everybody!!
(Ignore the post title if you think it sounds funny because if you do, I agree with you. One of those spure of the moment things I guess)
I finally finished Gone With the Wind and loved the entire book from cover to cover!! It was awesomely written and I can not WAIT until I watch the movie!! Margarett Mitchell was aparently a great writer. And if anyone were to ask me the question "When you go to heaven, who would you most like to meet?" I would whole-heartedly answer "Margarett Mitchell, of course, and to anyone else I say fiddle-dee-dee!!" and start laughing uncontrollebly=)
I totally agree with the book's main theme. Mitchell was quoted on the final page of her novel to have said that this story was a story about people with gumption. And it is true that a person needs to have gumption (the ability to take what is given them in life and turn it into a benefactor) or else they will fail at anything they begin-that is, if they have the gumption to start anything in the fist place.
Everyone is given the same oppurtunities in life, yet, there are people who take advantage of those opporunities and an even greater number of people who choose not to. The people without gumption are those who use the phrase 'I can't' and then feel okay about themselves later. It's not okay to say you can't do anything other than fly-and even that you can do with an airplane. And to even think that is a bad thing.
But, there are those people who give up on life saying that they live in the real world and that there is no place for dreams to be accomplished while in waking hours. Every human being has a dream. And, as long as you are alive, you have a right to accomplish your dream. So, there is no reason to give up and say I can't. That kind of thinking gets you nothing but micery-and that is the point of Gone with the Wind. I have always thought this but there is something gratifing about seeing it one paper.
And, on that note, I must leave this blog and write someswhere else. TT4N!!

Much to tell!
I'm still saving up for my 2000 Volkswagon Bettle and working more hours to help pay for it. (Don't ask me how I got more hours...I just got lucky I guess.)
Last Saturday I watched the Kentucky Derby for the first time in my life and I was completly mesmerized=) I learned new words like 'fillie' and watched with amazement the wonderful fashions (especially the hats!) I particularly loved what Heidi Montague wore and she looked ten times cuter with Spencer on her arm; the two wearing matching colors (I'm serious...they looked adorable=).
It took me a while during the pre race red carpet premiere to decide on my favorite horse but I finally decided on Eight Bells. Eight Bells was the first female horse, or filly, to race in the Kentucky Derby for the last, like, gagillion years. And only three fillies have ever won, including Winning Colors who was the latest.
The race was going really well and Eight Bells made it to second place behind Big Brown (-_-#). And then, as if things couldn't get any worst, she collapsed from some horrrible injury and, unfortunately, was euthanized~~~~~>_<~~~~~. I thought she did a fantastic job and it was obvious that she was a great horse. I'll miss her.
I missed Battlestar Galactica on friday but caught a few minutes of it on Sunday while I was getting ready for work that night. All I saw was that Baltar is sleeoing with a cylon and Starbuck's crew has finally turned on her.
And tonight, the most shocking news I could ever report on this magnificent blog of mine reads as follows: (if you watch Gossip Girl and missed tonights episode, don't read this b/c it's a spoiler). Serena said she killed someone(O_O)! OMFG! Serena killed someone! Isn't that horrible! I'll never believe it until next week! She just couldn't have...
I'm still reading Gone with the wind and reviewing a little Art of War as well. Both books are fascinating q(-_-)p
Well, that's all I got for this week. G2G!

A brand new day!
Today is my day off and I want to make another post but can't think of much to say...
Yesterday was my birthday and my brother reminded me (yet again) of how selfless and kind he can be when he did so much for my b-day party this weekend while I was at work. My mom was really great too (but that's no surprise since she's already the greatest in my eyes!)
In short, I got a new playstation 2-my favorite shade of silver:), Soulcalibur 2, and a mantle piece for my room...which I adore! I also got some money from various relatives. And, best of all, I sold my car! So now I can buy a new one!
I've also fallen in love with Gone With the Wind (the novel and soon the movie), finding every page interesting beyond my wildest dreams. I now feel some overpowering need to be polite to everyone as a way to dignify my southern upbringing.
And I can't go a day and forget about Battlestar Galactica (that show is getting good!). But, Laura Roslin and her people with have to share my 'tv' love with Ugly Betty starting it's new season on thursday! (which I'll have to miss because I have to work) but still, I LOVE that show! Are you thinking 'this boy watches too much tv?' If you are, you're probably right, lol! I know...I need a life...or a relationship at best:p
Bye now! I better git off before I lose my creative ideas and my book suffers because of it. G2G!

Just because...
Look what I received in my e-mail today:
I'm a 'TAURUS - The Enduring One (April 20 - May 20) Charming but aggressive. Can come off as boring, but they are not. Hard workers. Warm-hearted. Strong, has endurance. Solid beings that are stable and secure in their ways. Not looking for shortcuts. Take pride in their beauty . Patient and reliable. Make great friends and give good advice. Loving and kind. Loves hard - passionate. Express themselves emotionally. Prone to ferocious temper-tantrums. Determined. Indulge themselves often. Very generous.'
I know, nothing interesting, but I love astrology! I do see most of my personality in this description so maybe those astrologers are on to something...
P.S: If you need me tonight, at around 10pm, I'll be at work wishing I was at home watching the new episode of Battlestar Galactica. But, luckily, I have an old-fashioned VCR recorder that you can time to record anything at a time you specify. (It's so sad that it's so deep into the millennium, for me to be so young and to just now be learning how to us a VCR properly).
G2G, luv evry1, bye!!

Work
I seemed to have broken a record at work this past weekend. All of us cashiers were asked to sell as many March of Dimes 'coins' (or so I shall call them. They are just large, circular, pieces of cut-out,lamenated paper where a donor pays a dollar for one and writes their name on it). Basically, I sold 72 'coins' on Saturday; 50 more on Sunday; and an unestimated amount on Monday so I'll guess and say at least 40. So, in total, I sold 162 'coins.'
There's a rumor around the workplace that the cashier who sells the most might win some gift card to someplace so wish me luck:)
I am also a little past half-way done with reading Roots written by Alex Haley (which is really good and I highly recommend it to those interested in African American slavery at the beginning of America). I just picked up Gone With the Wind and am reading that now as well even though I knew I should have finished reading Roots first! But, if I am anything, I'm a multi-tasker at heart!
P.S: I still can't wait for friday's new episode of Battlestar Galactica.(I don't think Starbuck is a cylon-I just think she's crazy! lol!) But I do think I know who the last cylon is...but I won't speculate because I haven't been watching the show that long...

Long time no text...
I know I've been away from my computer for awhile but a lot as been going on and plus-my home computer's not working:P
Anywayz, I've been working and dealing with other issues and my financial troubles have lessened, best of all!
I am SOOOO glad Holly won Make Me A Supermodel last night! I was cheering for her over the last few weeks since Katy's ellimination and since I began getting a better fell for the contestants-how divided the house was between the boys and girls and how they said such bad things about eachother. Holly was ultimately placed against three men who, one of which, didn't even act his age, another was rude, and another was seeming to prefere getting the judge's vote then to rather maintain his own self respect. But, she won anyway with my assistance (unfortunately, I hadn't been voting the entire show b/c I thought that the phone votes were only for people using altell wireless. I hadn't realised the contrary until the week before the finals and called holly's number hopefully).
I also started watching Battlestar Galactica and love it! If I were on the show, I think I would be a virgon (even though my sign is Taurus:)

Snow returns to Georgia
It snowed a little bit about two days ago in the morning. So little, in fact, that I had to constently strain my eyes while walking my dog to see if it was really snow falling from the sky or pieces of lent. It didn't last more then five minutes anyway and the 11 o'clock news confirmed the fact that it was indeed snow that fell on Tuesday so I hadn't lost my mind.
Today, I've run across an interesting story about Miley Cyrus before checking my hotmail. The most shocking point of this story is when the writer, Martha Brockenbrough, pointed out Cyrus' dress and over-exagerated make-up at the Oscars. I myself was surprised when I saw the cover of TV Guide this week with her on the cover. I had to take a double look to make sure that it was her and not some actress who had been shrunk to fit the cover. She appeared to be a grown woman, wearing a long, costly red dress and quite a bit of make-up. I don't think someone her age should be dressing this way-it seems as if she is growing up to fast and should take an easy. But, I watched her interview with Barbara Walters and it seems as if she has control over her life with the assistance of her faith and her family.
Well, anyway, here is that article I promised. It's long but worthwhile (you may need to copy and paste the link into your URL):
http://movies.msn.com/movies/PMG/teenidols?GT1=7701
I myself see Mylie Cyrus as an unstoppable enterprising juggernaut. Her strength and confidence is evident through even the most airbrushed of photos. Even though I have never watched her show, her music can be uplifting at times as well. As of right now she's a good role-model or, at least, much better then those people so many teenagers look up to and idealize today. I hope she has a successful life.
P.S: As far as work is concerned, it's going swimingly and I'm almost done reading Philip Pullman's 'The Subtle Knife' even though, at times, I feel I shouldn't be reading it at all.

Here is a fairly interesting video
I received this video from a long line of forward emails and I find it very interesting. Try your best not to get as upset as I did when I wathced this reporter repeatedle bash this young man with persistent questioning in an obvious attempt to make the young man look bad. I find it insulting how quickly he approached him in a crowd of Obama supproters, asked him a series of questions, and almost immediatly interupted every one of his responses. I hope that just because of the fact that this man is African American did this reporter find a need to make him look bad on camera. Because I am also a young African Amercain male and I find it difficult to believe that someone might do the same thing to me. But, the unfortunate fool who trys this trick with me will get the same results as this reporter did...
The ending inspired me because they seemed to have become friends:) g2g!

The Other Day...
Yesterday, I locked myself out of my car and had no other way to get home. So I had to try and break into my back window (not by smashing it in but by opening the window a little from the top and fishing a hanger through to unlatch the door opener on the inside). But the problem was-their were no hangers anywhere at my job so I had to make one out of a display hook. When my attempts seemed to be futle and doing no good, the nicest customer came over and helped me get the hook into the car. I drove home last night and it refreshes me to think that their are people out their who help others just for the simple fact that another human being needed help-if only our world leaders thought that way:) LOL!!
I also saw the movie School Daze (produced in 1988)last night for the very first time and I loved it! For some reason, I thought of it as being a black comedy film even though it was a musical. The cinematography resembled that of the movie Heathers for some reason... If you haven't seen the movie-you need to!
Anyways, g2g!!

Ode to Katy
This week, Katy was voted off of Make Me A Supermodel. She had been placed in the bottom three by the judges for at least for episodes and I voted for her every time to try and keep her from going home. Anyway, this is a poem I have written for Katy, 21, of Auburn, Alabama:
O, Katy, how they changed the color of your hair,
And made you look so fare,
I once thought, 'what other model could compare,'
Until the judges began their 'critical warfare.'
It is so sad!
How could your runway walk have been that bad!
Many wondered 'had the judges gone mad!'
Every thursday I would cast my vote,
Hoping that you wouldn't fall off the boat.
But my attempts were in vain,
America's vote did also remain,
And still, a modeling career I hope you gain.
So now I leave you, Katy, with best wishes,
You will be missed; ignore the judge's disses!
If you are reading this Katy-I did honestly think you were good... On a lighter note, I am almostg done reading Ovid's Metamorphoses and will soon be reading the secong installment in Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials book series. I hope The Subtle Knife is as good as The Golden Compass. I really need to read this book before it becomes a movie at the end of the year, anyway.

My day of reflections...
Today was my forth day at my new job and I really enjoy being a cashier. I mean...not enough to cancel my college plans to persue casiering... but enough to sustain me until the next phase in my life (whatever that may be).
Unfortunately, Flava Flav seemed to have created yet another season of his show 'Flava of Love.' So America has to watch him embarrass himself, about fifty women, and the entire human race for another couple of months. And we all know how the season will end: he will pick some unlucky lady, she'll realize the mistake she made by coming on the show, she'll break up with him, and he'll redo the entire process again next year. How exciting...
The primary elections seemed to have been held on Super Duper Tuesday (February 5, 2008) and I was none the wiser. I am still rooting for Hillary Clinton and I support her 100%. The fact of the matter is; we need a president who actually cares about the people of this country and women tend to be a lot more selfless then straight men.
I leave you today with the wondrous harmonies of Rosa Ponselle singing Habanera from Bizet's 'Carmen Suite.'
P.S: I have added Nancy Senatre to my playlist-enjoy!
