How Much Do I Luv the 2008 VMAs?

The amount is too great to be counted! I especially loved what the Jonas Brothers wore (especially the white suit Joe Jonas wore). I'm glad that Britney Spears is finally back and winning awards already. Christina Aguilera practically fell off my radar and I'm glad she's back as well.

Everyone looked fenomenal from Jordan Sparks(thanx for standing up for the Jonas brothers and their decision to wear promise rings) to Lauren Conrad, from Pete Wentz(I luved his outfit too) to Speidi. Paris Hilton looked awesome as well.

I am also a Tokio Hotel fan now officially! And Paramore isn't that bad either. And for some reason I can't get 'The Seven Things I Hate About You' out of my head (even though I don't know the full song).

Shame on Perez Hilton for starting trouble with last night's host, Russel Brand. Of course, he made a couple of off color jokes aimed at the Jonas Brothers but apparently he thought they were funny at the time and apologized for what he said after Jordan Sparks (again, thank you) made a statement defending promise rings. Brand should be forgiven the Jonas Brothers should ignore it and we all need to just get along!

Another Excellent Video!

Here's the song 'I Want It All' from High School Musical 3: Senior Year. It finally grew on me! After two viewings, I fell in love with this song.

Today Is My Day Off!!

I finally found the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie trailor today. I have been told and have seen on a couple of television shows that the actual movie is coming out next summer and not this year as it usually does. However, I just got the new copy of Entertainment Weekly and it reports that the movie will be released in theatres on a specific date in November(I think its Nov.24th but I'm not sure, I can't remember). Anyways, I hope it does come out this year because I feel I've been waiting for far too long already. Here's the trailor:

All else is going well in my life. I got another raise at work (Yeah me!). I'm still reading Anna Karenina and its finally getting good! I also realised that the more dramatic a book is the more I love it! So, aparentally, my favorite type of book are those that are overly dramatic and romantic with a bit of social theory and constent implications of society.

I'm in the process of registering to vote now, as well. I will send my information off hopefully today; if the mailman hasn't come yet=p

I'm greatly anticipating the new season of Gossip Girl which premieres on Labor Day. I'll have to tape it (hopefully, I'm not the only one who still does that) because I have to work. I may even watch 90210 on tuesday-I haven't decided yet.

All About Chuck

Ed Westwick plays Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl (one of my favorite shows of all time) and even though his character is disgusting, immoral, and vastly immature his style more than makes up for his personal weaknesses. I adore his fashion!

That's all for now! G2G!

It has been a while....

A lot has been going on lately. Firstly, I was promoted to customer service at my job! Isn't that great?

I also have developed perhaps an unheathy fasination with the french culture-especially the 18th century, during the reign of Queen Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. I've seen both versions of Marie Antoinette (the 2006 version staring Kirsten Dunst and the 1938 version starring Norma Shearer) and I loved them both!

One of my favorite historical figures from this time period is now the duchess de Polignac. I don't know why but I think she was awesome! The most I know about her is that she was the Queen's favorite(so much so that many critics at that time took the two to be lovers) and that she was supposedly having an afair with another man.

I can't wait to visit France one day and see the Palace of Versailles and, of course, the Champs Elysees. Many of my associates are even helping me with my french (to bad I didn't pay attention in high school).

Oh, and I am highly anticipating HSM 3: Senior Year! I saw the commercial and I will be seeing the movie in October-its a done deal!

That's all for today, folks, g2g!

Attack of the killer bees=0

I report to you no later than five minutes after this event took place. My entire family (my mom, dad, brother, I and maybe my dog a little on the inside) are still laughing about it.

Earlier today, my father mentioned how there is a bee colony living in a hole in our backyard. Only a few moments ago, he asked me to assist him in killing them with raid and, after putting on his shoes (while wearing a pear of shorts, no less) ventured to begin his quest while I remainded in my bedroom getting ready.

No sooner then he left, however, was the whole house shaken by his screams of "Ouch!" and "I got stung!" and, unfortunately for the first time in my life, I heard my father scream like a twelve year old girl. Sad to say, he was stung by, according to him, three bees and, upon escaping them by running into the house terrified, one managed to follow him inside. We had a terrible time getting this one, as you would expect.

He then went out onto the back porch, followed by my mother and my brother,(I remained downstairs to search for any winged intruders) while still a bit shaken by his ordeal. The bees seemed to still be active, and launched another attack from the backyard. My brother stumbled over his own feet, screamed and then fled to his bedroom and closed the door tight so as to keep out those yellow intruders.

A couple more bees made their way inside. One was killed at the porch door. Another was audacious enough to venture into the hallway bathroom where I was forced to smash it using my brother's framed high school certificate. The family, eventhough shaken thoroughly, laughed uncontrollably for quite some time. It was then that I decided to blog about this event.

Do not fear, the bees retreated to their underground nest, apparently, since there are no more in the house or the garage where they started their assault. And now, with the adventure over, I can get back to reading 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde.

(I'm Still Gone With the Wind)

Keeping with my present obsession with Gone With the Wind, I found a video of the Carol Burnett Show where they are doing a spoof of the classic epic. Here is Part 1:

And here is Part 2:

I find both videos to be hilarious!! I actually bought Gone With the Wind on amazon.com but I'm afraid I will have to wait a long time for I had to pay with a check!

P.S: I am reading Le Morte d'Arthur by Malory now and have already read Voltair's 'Candide' and Virginia Woolf's essay "A Room of One's Own' and I loved both books!
