Keeping with my present obsession with Gone With the Wind, I found a video of the Carol Burnett Show where they are doing a spoof of the classic epic. Here is Part 1:
And here is Part 2:
I find both videos to be hilarious!! I actually bought Gone With the Wind on amazon.com but I'm afraid I will have to wait a long time for I had to pay with a check!
P.S: I am reading Le Morte d'Arthur by Malory now and have already read Voltair's 'Candide' and Virginia Woolf's essay "A Room of One's Own' and I loved both books!

Hey everybody!!

(Ignore the post title if you think it sounds funny because if you do, I agree with you. One of those spure of the moment things I guess)
I finally finished Gone With the Wind and loved the entire book from cover to cover!! It was awesomely written and I can not WAIT until I watch the movie!! Margarett Mitchell was aparently a great writer. And if anyone were to ask me the question "When you go to heaven, who would you most like to meet?" I would whole-heartedly answer "Margarett Mitchell, of course, and to anyone else I say fiddle-dee-dee!!" and start laughing uncontrollebly=)
I totally agree with the book's main theme. Mitchell was quoted on the final page of her novel to have said that this story was a story about people with gumption. And it is true that a person needs to have gumption (the ability to take what is given them in life and turn it into a benefactor) or else they will fail at anything they begin-that is, if they have the gumption to start anything in the fist place.
Everyone is given the same oppurtunities in life, yet, there are people who take advantage of those opporunities and an even greater number of people who choose not to. The people without gumption are those who use the phrase 'I can't' and then feel okay about themselves later. It's not okay to say you can't do anything other than fly-and even that you can do with an airplane. And to even think that is a bad thing.
But, there are those people who give up on life saying that they live in the real world and that there is no place for dreams to be accomplished while in waking hours. Every human being has a dream. And, as long as you are alive, you have a right to accomplish your dream. So, there is no reason to give up and say I can't. That kind of thinking gets you nothing but micery-and that is the point of Gone with the Wind. I have always thought this but there is something gratifing about seeing it one paper.
And, on that note, I must leave this blog and write someswhere else. TT4N!!

Much to tell!
I'm still saving up for my 2000 Volkswagon Bettle and working more hours to help pay for it. (Don't ask me how I got more hours...I just got lucky I guess.)
Last Saturday I watched the Kentucky Derby for the first time in my life and I was completly mesmerized=) I learned new words like 'fillie' and watched with amazement the wonderful fashions (especially the hats!) I particularly loved what Heidi Montague wore and she looked ten times cuter with Spencer on her arm; the two wearing matching colors (I'm serious...they looked adorable=).
It took me a while during the pre race red carpet premiere to decide on my favorite horse but I finally decided on Eight Bells. Eight Bells was the first female horse, or filly, to race in the Kentucky Derby for the last, like, gagillion years. And only three fillies have ever won, including Winning Colors who was the latest.
The race was going really well and Eight Bells made it to second place behind Big Brown (-_-#). And then, as if things couldn't get any worst, she collapsed from some horrrible injury and, unfortunately, was euthanized~~~~~>_<~~~~~. I thought she did a fantastic job and it was obvious that she was a great horse. I'll miss her.
I missed Battlestar Galactica on friday but caught a few minutes of it on Sunday while I was getting ready for work that night. All I saw was that Baltar is sleeoing with a cylon and Starbuck's crew has finally turned on her.
And tonight, the most shocking news I could ever report on this magnificent blog of mine reads as follows: (if you watch Gossip Girl and missed tonights episode, don't read this b/c it's a spoiler). Serena said she killed someone(O_O)! OMFG! Serena killed someone! Isn't that horrible! I'll never believe it until next week! She just couldn't have...
I'm still reading Gone with the wind and reviewing a little Art of War as well. Both books are fascinating q(-_-)p
Well, that's all I got for this week. G2G!

A brand new day!
Today is my day off and I want to make another post but can't think of much to say...
Yesterday was my birthday and my brother reminded me (yet again) of how selfless and kind he can be when he did so much for my b-day party this weekend while I was at work. My mom was really great too (but that's no surprise since she's already the greatest in my eyes!)
In short, I got a new playstation 2-my favorite shade of silver:), Soulcalibur 2, and a mantle piece for my room...which I adore! I also got some money from various relatives. And, best of all, I sold my car! So now I can buy a new one!
I've also fallen in love with Gone With the Wind (the novel and soon the movie), finding every page interesting beyond my wildest dreams. I now feel some overpowering need to be polite to everyone as a way to dignify my southern upbringing.
And I can't go a day and forget about Battlestar Galactica (that show is getting good!). But, Laura Roslin and her people with have to share my 'tv' love with Ugly Betty starting it's new season on thursday! (which I'll have to miss because I have to work) but still, I LOVE that show! Are you thinking 'this boy watches too much tv?' If you are, you're probably right, lol! I know...I need a life...or a relationship at best:p
Bye now! I better git off before I lose my creative ideas and my book suffers because of it. G2G!

Just because...
Look what I received in my e-mail today:
I'm a 'TAURUS - The Enduring One (April 20 - May 20) Charming but aggressive. Can come off as boring, but they are not. Hard workers. Warm-hearted. Strong, has endurance. Solid beings that are stable and secure in their ways. Not looking for shortcuts. Take pride in their beauty . Patient and reliable. Make great friends and give good advice. Loving and kind. Loves hard - passionate. Express themselves emotionally. Prone to ferocious temper-tantrums. Determined. Indulge themselves often. Very generous.'
I know, nothing interesting, but I love astrology! I do see most of my personality in this description so maybe those astrologers are on to something...
P.S: If you need me tonight, at around 10pm, I'll be at work wishing I was at home watching the new episode of Battlestar Galactica. But, luckily, I have an old-fashioned VCR recorder that you can time to record anything at a time you specify. (It's so sad that it's so deep into the millennium, for me to be so young and to just now be learning how to us a VCR properly).
G2G, luv evry1, bye!!

Work
I seemed to have broken a record at work this past weekend. All of us cashiers were asked to sell as many March of Dimes 'coins' (or so I shall call them. They are just large, circular, pieces of cut-out,lamenated paper where a donor pays a dollar for one and writes their name on it). Basically, I sold 72 'coins' on Saturday; 50 more on Sunday; and an unestimated amount on Monday so I'll guess and say at least 40. So, in total, I sold 162 'coins.'
There's a rumor around the workplace that the cashier who sells the most might win some gift card to someplace so wish me luck:)
I am also a little past half-way done with reading Roots written by Alex Haley (which is really good and I highly recommend it to those interested in African American slavery at the beginning of America). I just picked up Gone With the Wind and am reading that now as well even though I knew I should have finished reading Roots first! But, if I am anything, I'm a multi-tasker at heart!
P.S: I still can't wait for friday's new episode of Battlestar Galactica.(I don't think Starbuck is a cylon-I just think she's crazy! lol!) But I do think I know who the last cylon is...but I won't speculate because I haven't been watching the show that long...

Long time no text...

I know I've been away from my computer for awhile but a lot as been going on and plus-my home computer's not working:P
Anywayz, I've been working and dealing with other issues and my financial troubles have lessened, best of all!
I am SOOOO glad Holly won Make Me A Supermodel last night! I was cheering for her over the last few weeks since Katy's ellimination and since I began getting a better fell for the contestants-how divided the house was between the boys and girls and how they said such bad things about eachother. Holly was ultimately placed against three men who, one of which, didn't even act his age, another was rude, and another was seeming to prefere getting the judge's vote then to rather maintain his own self respect. But, she won anyway with my assistance (unfortunately, I hadn't been voting the entire show b/c I thought that the phone votes were only for people using altell wireless. I hadn't realised the contrary until the week before the finals and called holly's number hopefully).
I also started watching Battlestar Galactica and love it! If I were on the show, I think I would be a virgon (even though my sign is Taurus:)
G2G!
